If shopping is your thing then Manchester is your place. Great outlet shopping and restaurants just minutes away. If you like quieter adventures there's Butterfly Parks, Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream Factory, Hildene - a Lincoln Family Home and Rail Museum and, and, so much more.
After your day, have dinner out at one of the many fine restaurants nearby or pick up some fresh picked veggies, Vermont cheese, Vermont beer, local games and then head back to kick your feet up and relax.
However, if you have to work, wifi is up and running throughout the house.
Don't miss local tractor pulls during the Fall.
Make sure that when you are in Manchester that you pick up a free copy of The News Guide to get the most up to date event listings in the area. It cover's every thing from the pancake breakfasts through sales and fairs.
Summer on Dorset Mountain
This is a home built for rest and fun; 180 degree views of the Green Mountain valley with a balcony that cantilevers over it (yes, it's built on a cliff). Three bedrooms with an additional sofa bed in the great room so it can sleep 8 comfortably. Two baths, one with a Jacuzzi and the other has a stone shower with a view. A washer and dryer to keep your hiking gear clean. There are two old fashioned arcade video games for rainy day fun. A kitchen with every amenity for tasty meals. The windows and valley keep the summer breezes blowing and the house cool, but if they don’t work, there is air-conditioning in the all the bedrooms. For those cooler evenings the wood burning stove will keep you warm. Outside there is a fire pit for evening sing-a-a longs and s’mores. If you want great hiking the trails start at the house and go deep into the mountain woods.
Our home isn't just special because it's located on top of Dorset Mountain in East Dorset, Vermont. It isn't special because it's nestled between a valley and a dense woodland, with windows that provide a 180 degree view of it all. It isn't just special because it's minutes away from the ski areas, romantic town fairs, you-pick orchards, and Manchester Outlets for shopping. It isn't just special because this woodland retreat comes with all the luxuries of a city retreat. It's special because it cantilevers out over over a cliff and the valley below for breathtaking views from every vantage point. It's special because it has all of these things..... and even more.
